The Algorithm Explained (What is Crowdsource the Truth)

17 October 2016 · 2:14

Crowdsource The Truth is an Open Source Fact Checking Engine and political social media movement inspired by Bernie Sanders, WikiLeaks, IBM Watson and Infowars.com.

Love or hate any or all of those, each of them shook the mainstream and changed people’s perception of what was possible.

The 2016 election has taught us that information is flooding our brains faster than ever before. Deciphering what is true and what is patently false can be difficult to do.

Using an Open Source Fact Checking Engine driven by a constantly expanding computer network of human brains, #crowdsourcethetruth will provide an unprecedented level of transparency in media.

#crowdsourcethetruth will focus on examining current events, public policy, history, truth in media and other topics of interest with the goal of members working together to collect and analyze data from around the web and around the world. Together, we will do our best to determine what is fact and what is fiction. Everyone is invited to participate but of course no one is required to.

Debates MUST be based in fact and supported by evidence. Opinions and hypotheses are required for this to work, but personal insults and unsupported assumptions are strictly discouraged and may result in removal. Please use other pages to post opinions that are unsupported by evidentiary facts.

If you see something you disagree with, challenge it with better evidence and logic or simply tune it out. This group is an Autocratic Democracy, to borrow some Orwellian doublespeak from those I wish to examine. I run it, but of course if the group dislikes my decisions the project will fail. All decisions will be subjected to group consensus. If anyone doesn’t like the direction, please suggest a change or feel free to bow out.
